I almost got attacked at Parow Centre (Cape Town)

Just a heads up, I know at lot of people stop at Parow Centre on their way to airport or Airport Industria, I just want you to be vigilant. I stopped at the mall, the parking lot was full and I parked close to the trees on De La Rey side which was all I could find. I noticed some guys sitting in the shade by the trees but I assumed they were part of the taxi guys. But when I looked up again they were in front of me, they tried to distract me which is a common tactic in robbery but I just ignored them and continued walking pass them, then they got hostile and started swearing at me. But I walked faster towards the entrance. No idea what their plans were, I was a bit worried as I had a female companion with me, that part is obscured by the trees so you can even get hijacked there. It's not like the car guards can do anything to help. Especially for females I would avoid parking by the trees. Stay safe!

The problem with this mall is that there are too many people loitering around: at the entrances, at the buy shops (Cash Converters & Crusaders), in the parking lot, inside and outside the mall. This provides "cover" for criminals. Now there's a taxi rank there as well which attracts a certain element.
